A Little Kindness Goes a Long Way

It’s easy to go down the dark, never-ending path of questioning God about His plans for us when we had such different plans dreamt for ourselves. However, God has shown us over the last year and a half that we can’t live on that dark path, because if we did, we would miss so many beautiful moments, numerous acts of kindness and a major transformation of our hearts. Instead of living on that dark, never-ending path of questioning God, everyday we choose to take those “steps in faith”. In return, we have experienced how just a little kindness goes a long way. What seems like something small to someone may be the exact thing another person needs. If it weren’t for God’s plan, we wouldn’t be able to truly experience these acts of kindness in our everyday life and the way in which these moments within God’s plan transform our very hearts and souls.

Kindness is someone sending a card just to let you know they’re thinking and praying for you.

Kindness is someone coming over and cleaning your entire house after your child has surgery.

Kindness is an old high school friend that heads up the delivery service at a grocery store offering to deliver your groceries to you.

Kindness is someone offering to watch your child overnight (who doesn’t sleep great) so that you can get a full-night’s rest.

Kindness is a sweet little girl making sure her cousin is always included and basically wherever she is.

Kindness is someone bringing you a never-ending supply of meat and filling the freezer.

Kindness is someone scooping your driveway full of snow that you hadn’t gotten to since your child just wanted to be held.

Kindness is someone stopping weekly at a discount store to check and see if they have your child’s favorite food pouches.

Kindness is someone giving up a day a week to watch your child and do all of his therapy.

Kindness is a group of people putting together a benefit that truly reflected God’s goodness and people’s amazing generosity.

Kindness is someone bringing you soup for supper, because they “made too much.”

Kindness is friends checking in, just wanting to hang out, and be with you.

Kindness is someone bringing Subway and spending time together.

Kindness is someone sending a plant that brings some sunshine on the darkest days.

Kindness is someone sitting with you and chatting while your child is in surgery.

Kindness is someone asking to design a necklace for your son and it reaching places you would never expect.

Kindness is someone offering to figure out all of the information and paperwork for potential waivers for your son.

Kindness is communities rising up and coming together for a sweet little guy who has made such an impact.

Our new outlook in the mundane everyday tasks is to find simple and small ways to show kindness to others as it truly creates a ripple effect.

Romans 12:8

If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
